i came across this in the MYTH forums.

I am opening up a dialogue to discuss us joining your MYTH alliance, if a slot is available. I think we definitely share some common attitudes and standards about helpfulness, community, and most importantly - humor! Our website is www.etherealprotectors.com, and we have 56 members, most of whom were active in the last few weeks. The only item I couldn't find on your website was your attitude about inter-alliance selling. Feel free to browse our site. I would tell you to PM me in-game, but I will be afk for a week on vacation. I will hope to catch you when I get back.

Thanks!

It sounds like they have many of the same standards we do.  They sounds like a good crew.

Looks interesting.

A few random things I noticed from their forums....

Their forums were created on 27 Feb 2007, or that was the first date of the registration of a member on the forums... unknown is if this coincides with the creation of the guild or not.

With 56 members in their guild, 41 members are on the forums, a handful being guests or other guilds interested in merging.

They have good potential for and seem to aim for a strong community within their guild much as we do, I gathered from reading their posts over (there are not allot of posts so it is easier to research their site than others in the past).

About trading in alliance chat, I found out this and a few other things in their "Who we are" topic...

If one character attribute can describe the personality of our guild, it is concern for others. We respect each other's playing styles, viewpoints, age, and any other thing you can use to divide folks rather than join them. We know each other and care about one another, and are always willing to help. If you are interested in joining our motley group of teens, tweens, married folks, not so married folks, parent/child teams, and way older gamers, please read the following standards. We guard these jealously, so if you have issues with them, I'm sure you can find somewhere more suited to your playing style.

Our code of conduct:
1. We respect each other. No cursing, no disrespectful topics, no dissing one another if their play frustrates you.
2. Help when you can. Take guildies instead of heroes. You may have to hang around a bit longer, but the experience is always more memorable.
3. We don't sell to each other, period. If you need something, ask. If we have it to spare, we'll give it to you. Note: Newer members with whom we are unfamiliar will have at least a 30-day waiting period to ask for items, and that is no guarantee they will be given. We need to be sensible about folks popping in to get what they want and leaving, so please understand why this is necessary.
4. Officers are more than happy to help, but it is not their place to drop everything because you have an immediate need. Please understand that to help you, we need to advance in the game too.

Some other useful information. We are allied with the kurzicks, we have no established "active" rule except that 3 weeks of no contact (no posts, emails, or logins) will result in being booted.

If these things appeal to you, feel free to post and ask to meet with an officer. It's our goal to play at least once with you to see if you are compatible with our team.

Peace (except in game, where we kill uglies),

so they coincide with our own with the exception to the age thing, but if their members in-GW are as mature as the ones that post on their forums then we should have no problems at all with this, and it speaks very well for them if this is actively pursued and monitored... ex)- if this is the way it is currently and it is pruned to keep it this way as it is stated is done.

Plus they have a officer from New Orleans, my old stomping ground so thats worth some extra points  Grin

All in all I would have to give it a vote of confidence.  Cool I see no red flags screaming at me anywhere in their forums whatsoever.
